Today we replaced worn tap cartridges on a Bristan Easyfit kitchen tap for a homeowner in Exmouth. The customer reported stiff operation, dripping when the tap was shut off, and reduced water control — all classic signs of failing ceramic cartridges. Bristan Easyfit taps are popular because of their quick-fit base and modular design, but once the internal cartridges start to fail they cause leaks, wasted water and difficulty turning the handle.
We isolated the water, removed the handles and old ceramic cartridges, cleaned the internal body, checked the O-rings, fitted new Bristan-compatible cartridges, refitted the handles and tested the tap through its full range. The tap now turns smoothly, shuts off instantly and no longer drips. We also checked the customer’s isolation valves and gave advice on maintaining water pressure and preventing future limescale build-up.
