On recent routine services around Exmouth, we found several faults that would have caused breakdowns later in the winter.
Worn electrodes
On several boilers, the spark gap on the electrodes had worn too wide. That causes unreliable ignition, lockouts and poor combustion. It’s common on older boilers and best dealt with before the electrode fails completely.
Leaking hydraulic blocks
A couple of boilers had small weeps from the hydraulic block. They’re easy to miss, but over time they cause pressure loss, corrosion and damage inside the boiler.
Each customer got a clear explanation of what we found, the parts needed and how long the repair would take, and the work is booked in. This is what a service is for. Servicing is £100 + VAT for the first hour. See boiler servicing and repairs and work in Exmouth.
