We recently attended a holiday home in Exmouth to carry out a Worcester Bosch boiler service, alongside investigating reports of a leak affecting the flat below.

During the visit, we carried out a full service and system check, and also investigated the reported issue.

We identified:

• Early signs of minor leaks within the system

• A faulty brass bath waste

• Leak occurring where the waste connects to a steel bath

This type of issue is common in older installations, where materials and seals degrade over time, leading to slow leaks that can go unnoticed until damage occurs.

Following our findings, we have scheduled further works including:

• Replacement of bath waste and associated pipework

• Installation of new shower panels

• Replacement of an old lead water supply pipe

By identifying the issue early, we were able to prevent further damage and put a clear plan in place to resolve it.
