From Apprentice to Installer: My Journey in Plumbing

Looking back 12 to 15 years at two big milestones in my plumbing and heating career:

My first unvented cylinder installation, as an apprentice.
My first combi boiler installation under the SAFEXE name.

Looking at them now, they still stand up to the standard I work to today. The cylinder tested my skills as a trainee, and the combi was the first job delivered under my own business. Everything since has been built on those.

Ideal Logic combi boiler, Dean's first install under the SAFEXE name

5/5 Stars – Highly recommend for AC installation! We recently had aircon installed and the entire experience was flawless. From the initial quote to the final clean-up, Dean and Max was brilliant. They were incredibly polite, professional, and worked efficiently to get the units mounted and wired up perfectly. They were very respectful of our home, laying down protection and cleaning up thoroughly after drilling. The system itself is fantastic—whisper-quiet and cools the room down in minutes. If you are on the fence about getting AC fitted, definitely use this company. Great communication and top-tier workmanship!

We’ve been using Safexe for a few years now and would deffo recommend it! Whenever we have an issue with our boiler, Dean is always happy to help. He’s professional, honest and reliable, and always gives us a quote before doing any work. Dean even takes the time to show us how to fix simple boiler issues ourselves.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic service from Dean and Max at Safex We couldn’t be happier with the air conditioning installation carried out by Dean and Max from Safex. They installed units in both our study and bedroom and did an absolutely brilliant job from start to finish. They were professional, friendly and clearly took real pride in their work. Everything was installed extremely neatly, with great attention to detail, and they made sure everything was working perfectly and that we understood how to use the system before they left. They were also incredibly tidy and respectful of our home — you’d hardly know they’d been working here apart from the excellent new air conditioning! A first-class job and a genuinely excellent experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dean, Max and Safex to anyone considering air conditioning for their home. Five stars and thoroughly deserved. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm very happy with the work done by Safexe. Dean responded swiftly when I needed some urgent work done on the boiler, and the planned work on pipes and radiators was all decided in advance, the days and times kept to and the work completed as stated and to a high standard. Max was very helpful and obliging, and explained at each step, what was going on, while I was glad that Dean replied quickly to any queries I raised.

We've always used Safe Exe when seeking advice, quotations and engineering for heating solutions across properties in Devon because they are consistently cost-effective, reasonably priced, and provide excellent customer service. Recently, we spent several hours with the Safe Exe team discussing the best options for our next central heating system. They provided detailed, in-depth quotations covering a range of solutions, including air source heat pumps, conventional central heating, LPG, oil, and gas systems. The time, expertise, and attention to detail they invested in helping us understand the options were greatly appreciated. Their comprehensive advice has given us the confidence to make an informed decision that balances economy, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. We would highly recommend their services.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t recommend Safexe highly enough. Dean and Max have been brilliant from day one. Friendly, professional, and clearly take real pride in their work. They’ve always been happy to answer questions and explain things properly without any pressure or jargon. The quality of their work is excellent, and it’s refreshing to find a company that’s reliable, turns up when they say they will, and leaves everything clean and tidy afterwards. Whether it’s boiler work, heat pumps, or air conditioning, you can tell they know their trade inside out. A genuinely trustworthy local company that provides first-class service. Thanks again, Dean and Max!

A complete bathroom refurbishment was carried out by Safexe, this included replacing the wooden floor and a replaster of the walls. The estimate was clear and detailed, the workplan was carefully drawn up and the materials itemised before purchase. Max carried out the work to a very high standard and was totally professional in managing the job, it was carried out on time and on budget with minimum disruption. I would recommend Safexe and would be happy to have them carry out any future work.

What a professional and fast service! I contacted Dean yesterday and left a answerphone message as he was on holiday, and due back to work today on 19/2. We had no hot water and an overflow pipe pumping out all water from our tank into the drain. Dean was at our apartment this morning and diagnosed the problem within minutes on the morning of his first day back to work after his holiday…….you can’t get a better service, faster response time and plumber visit in that short space of time/notification period anywhere! cheers Dean absolutely brilliant service!

A routine service, but Dean was punctual, courteous and efficient. When my ageing boiler finally gives up the ghost I will definitely ask him to quote for a replacement.
