We recently attended an Ideal Instinct boiler to carry out a boiler service, replace the flue manifold and investigate a reported pressure loss/leak issue on the heating system.
This type of visit is a good example of why boiler servicing and proper fault diagnosis are so important. A boiler can appear to be working, but worn parts, pressure issues or early faults can still be present.
As part of the visit, the boiler was serviced and the flue manifold was replaced. We also carried out checks to help identify the cause of the pressure loss.
A boiler losing pressure every few days can be caused by several different issues, including:
✅ Small leaks on radiator valves
✅ Leaks from visible pipework
✅ Expansion vessel problems
✅ Pressure relief valve discharge
✅ Internal boiler leaks
✅ Hidden pipework leaks
✅ Faulty filling loops or other boiler components
Some leaks are obvious during a visit. Others are slower, intermittent or hidden under floors, inside walls or within the boiler itself. That is why it is important to investigate the system properly rather than just topping the pressure up and hoping for the best.
We carry out Ideal boiler servicing, Ideal boiler repairs, gas boiler servicing, heating fault diagnosis, pressure loss investigations, flue component replacement and boiler replacement work across Exmouth, Exeter, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Topsham, Lympstone, East Budleigh, Newton Poppleford, Pinhoe, West Hill and surrounding East Devon areas.
If your boiler keeps losing pressure, needs topping up regularly, makes unusual noises, shows fault codes or has not been serviced recently, it is worth getting it checked before the problem becomes more expensive.
Where a boiler is becoming unreliable or no longer economical to repair, we can also advise on modern high-efficiency replacement options. Finance is available on selected boiler replacement work.
