Phase 1 of our latest home renovation project in Pinhoe is nearly complete, with the property now prepared for a modern low-temperature heating system, mechanical ventilation and the future heat pump installation.
We have installed aluminium, low-water-temperature radiators throughout the first phase of the project. These radiators are designed to work efficiently at the lower flow temperatures commonly used by heat pump systems.
Flow-meter radiator valves have also been fitted, helping us monitor and balance the flow through each radiator when the finished heating system is commissioned.
The MVHR unit has now been mounted and is ready for the next stage of ductwork installation. Once completed, the mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system will provide controlled fresh air throughout the property while recovering heat from the extracted air.
Preparing for Phase 2
The next phase will see the project move forward considerably, including:
- Removal of existing walls
- Construction of the new extension
- Installation of new heating and plumbing pipework
- Additional low-temperature radiators
- MVHR ductwork
- New wet rooms
- Final heat pump installation and commissioning
Completing the heating, plumbing and ventilation work as part of the wider renovation allows the different systems to be properly designed around the finished property.
Rather than treating the heat pump, radiators and ventilation as separate installations, the complete system can be planned to work together efficiently.
