A power flush at a busy student HMO in Exeter city centre. The tenants had cold radiators, uneven heating and slow warm-up times.
Heating in an HMO works harder than in most homes, and that speeds up sludge and magnetite build-up. Left alone, it leads to cold spots, boiler lockouts, pump failures and higher bills.
What we did
- Connected the power flushing machine and flushed each radiator in turn with cleaning chemicals.
- Refilled with fresh inhibitor.
- Checked the pump and balanced the system.
